How to Convert Shares to Issuer Sponsored

To sell shares through OneTrade, they must be issuer sponsored. Issuer sponsored shareholdings have an identifying number beginning with an "I".

If you have CHESS or broker sponsored shares you must convert them to issuer sponsored before you can sell them through OneTrade. CHESS shareholdings have an identifying number beginning with an "X".

To convert your shares to issuer sponsored, follow these simple steps:

» Call or write to your broker
» Request to have your shares converted to issuer sponsored
» Place your sell order through OneTrade with your new SRN

Depending on your broker, this process can take around 7 days.

Keep in mind that once your broker has converted your shares to issuer sponsored, it is up to the share registry to post you a new shareholding statement containing your SRN/Holder Number.

If you dont know who your broker is, call the share registry who manages your shareholding and request the information. The share registry contact details are usually located at the top right hand corner of shareholding and dividend statements.
